Funded Childcare

Once your child reaches 2 years you could be entitled to funded childcare of 15 hours a week during term times. The Early Years Educational Entitlement is applicable from the start of the first term after their 2nd birthday (September, January or April) and certain criteria must be met in order to receive the free childcare from 2 years. Creative and exploratory play

Your child needs the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the world around them. At Tower Hill Nursery, our provision for children 2 and 3 years of age is exceptional. We have a large open-plan facility, with an area designed exclusively for creative and messy play. Let your child experience creativity without you worrying about drips or spills. The room is divided into two groups: two year olds and the 3 year olds. Each group has a named senior who will take the lead on planning for the individual child. Our curriculum meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework.

Meal Preparation

All meals are prepared by our resident nursery cook, and dietary requirements are catered for, with an emphasis on allergies and cultural requirements. There is a five-week menu in place, which has been devised with support from a nutritionist to ensure the meals are balanced, providing children with all the nutrients recommended for a healthy diet. Meals are prepared to the required consistency for the individual child based on their stage of weaning e.g. pureed, lumpy, finger food or chopped. We take our lead from the parents and follow the baby’s home routine of eating and sleeping where possible. The nursery practitioners dedicate their time to care, play and talk to the babies, giving them cuddles and ensuring their emotional needs are attended to.
